Sante Muro is a self-taught painter and mural artist from Basilicata, active between Satriano di Lucania and Potenza. His artistic research has evolved from classical portraiture and textured urban landscapes towards dreamlike interior scenes characterised by a pop and symbolist approach.
Born on 23 March 1978, Muro gradually moved from an academic approach to portraiture towards a more intimate and surreal language, often exploring the unconscious through interior scenes.
His works transform everyday situations into suspended images populated by sinuous bodies and dreamlike atmospheres. Alongside painting on canvas, he creates large-scale murals and has contributed to the artistic regeneration of several towns in Basilicata.
He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, consolidating his presence within contemporary art.
