Rock Girl by Cinzia Pellin is a unique 2023 oil-on-linen work from the pictorial project The Life of Women, presented that year at the Venanzo Crocetti Museum in Rome.

The work portrays a free, provocative and ironic femininity. The protagonist is shown in an apparently everyday moment that Pellin transforms into a scene of strong visual impact.

Gesture, gaze and pose convey a rebellious spirit, while elements of pop culture, sensuality and everyday life interact throughout the composition. As in many of Pellin’s works, monochrome tones are interrupted by precise accents of colour, including blue denim and vivid red details.

With Rock Girl, Pellin constructs a contemporary portrait in which irony, seduction and independence contribute to the image of a woman fully aware of her identity. The work was also published in the art magazine Aw ArtMag, directed by Lorella Pagnucco Salvemini.
