The Hope by Cinzia Pellin is an intense portrait centred on the gaze of a young Indian girl, represented in a moment of profound serenity and awareness.
Her eyes form the emotional centre of the composition. The gaze appears to meet the viewer directly, inviting reflection on hope, memory and the future. The title expresses the work’s central message: looking forward with confidence while remaining conscious of the past.
Pellin’s characteristic visual language is also visible in the strong chromatic contrast between the predominantly monochrome face, the intense red background and the carefully rendered eyes, which gain exceptional depth and expressiveness.
The Hope has an international exhibition history. It was shown at Different Gallery in London during the group exhibition Face and at the Tunbridge Wells Art Fair in 2016. In 2017 it was presented in The Women Beauty at Villa Reale di Monza and published in the exhibition catalogue.
